Big Art Season for Niles North

It will be a busy few weeks for District 219 art students and teachers with three major events to check out.


North and West Create Works for Sculpture Park 

Join students and teachers from Niles North and West as they 
are  honored for creating two new sculptures for the Northshore Sculpture Park on McCormick Blvd. J

ool is exploring the possibility of providing a bus due to limited parking at the Sculpture Park. Please i

ndicate that you are interested in taking a bus from Niles North to the p

ark in your RSVP.

A bus update will be sent via email before Sept. 27.

If you prefer to drive, parking will be available at the Skokie Police Department boat launch on Oakton.


The sculptures are located in the park just south of Oakton St.


Art Students Compete

Eight Niles North Art Students are participating in the fourth annual 12x12 Art Competition and Exhibit at Dick Blick in Evanston.


The reception is Thursday, Sept. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Dick Blick, 1755 Maple Ave., Evanston, Ill.


Eight artists from the school will have their work on 

display. Those students are: Corie Adams, Sally 

Lavengood, Gabrielle General, Jungha Suk, Alexa Jasenof, Anna Poloz, Sarah Lewin and Serena Hocharoen.


Teachers as Artists

Also, on Thursday, Sept. 20, the Teachers As Artists reception will take place at the Skokie Public Library at 6:30 p.m. District 219 art teachers, as well as art teachers from feeder schools, will be exhibiting their personal artwork on the east side of the library.


The exhibit will include paintings, drawings, digital art, photography, scupture and ceramics.


The Skokie Public Library is located at 5215 Oakton St.
